CBGB

Hilly Kristal opened CBGB in 1973. It’s known for being the birthplace of Punk and the famed venue of bands like the Ramones, Television, Patti Smith Group, Blondie, and Talking Heads. It continued to be the innovative home for rock till closing in 2006. I spent several years traveling to the club creating images for a local punkzine.
